Women Engineers Assemble to Shape “Digital Morocco 2030” at the 6th Annual CFIE-AIEM Assembly

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the 6th Annual Assembly of Women Engineers, hosted by CFIE-AIEM Officiel, brought together leading minds in engineering, technology, and public policy under the forward-looking theme: “Digital Morocco 2030: Opportunities and Challenges.” The event was gracefully moderated by Khadija Ihsane, whose leadership and presence energized the day’s program.

A highlight of the assembly was the presentation of the Award for Leading Women Engineers in Digital Fields 🏆, which was conferred upon Meriam Benahnia, Global Head of Application Software – Senior Manager at Stellantis. This prestigious recognition celebrates her remarkable achievements and leadership in the digital engineering landscape. The award was presented by Mme Nawal Gharmili Sefrioui, President of AIEM, making the moment especially meaningful.

Meriam Benahnia shared the stage with Mme Nezha ELANMANARI, who was also honored during the ceremony. Additionally, Mme Laïla Benhlima, Mme Samira Gourroum, and Mme Samia El Hanchi received Tributes of Honor, recognizing their outstanding contributions and enduring impact in the field of engineering.

The assembly opened with powerful keynote addresses from distinguished national figures:

  • Mme Leila Benali, PhD., Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development
  • Mr. Omar Seghrouchni, President of the CNDP
  • Mr. Khalid Safir, General Director of the CDG

These inaugural speeches set the stage for critical discussions on the strategic direction of Morocco’s digital transformation.

Panels Spotlight Pathways to Digital Sovereignty

Two major panel discussions took center stage during the event:

  • “Strategic Directions for a Sovereign and Inclusive Digital Morocco”
  • “Effective Models for a Successful Digital Transition”

Each panel featured respected professionals from both public and private sectors who offered insights into actionable strategies and policy recommendations. The conversations reinforced the vital role of engineers—and women in particular—in driving innovation and ensuring inclusive growth in Morocco’s digital future.

A Platform for Empowerment and Progress

With Morocco aiming to become a regional leader in digital transformation by 2030, the CFIE-AIEM Assembly plays a pivotal role in mobilizing talent, building networks, and celebrating excellence. The involvement of organizations like AIEM Officiel and CFIE ensures that engineers—especially women—are empowered to lead and influence the digital agenda.

Special thanks were extended to the award jury, presided over by Mr. Abed Chagar, for their thoughtful selection and continued support of women in technology.

Looking Toward 2030

The 6th Annual Assembly was more than an event—it was a statement of intent. By honoring trailblazers like Meriam Benahnia and fostering a space for strategic dialogue, CFIE-AIEM is shaping the blueprint for a digitally sovereign, inclusive, and innovative Morocco.
